sounds like something is bent or binding. remove panel and have a look at mechanisms while window is going up and down. might just be a bent arm or something. i have replaced a few window motors but never had your problems.
good luck.

Well, I can tell you this much, its not that bad...
Remove the door panel (being carefuly with the push connectors: use a tool if you can or jsut be gentle), then remove the speaker. There are three screws holding the motor to the regulator. You may have to drill out the hole in the metal part of the door to access the screws ( I seem to recall having to do that)....Once you have access, get them out, and then the motor can come out through the speaker hole. Oh, and make sure you disconnect the electrical connector to the motor!!..
When you get it out, you will liekly have to remove the gears from the old motor to put them into the new one...Instructions are included in the motor kit...(the motor and the replacement gears are sold as seperate peices).
good luck!!

sure i can help a little. the fella above describes it well. my 2 cents is this: the replacement motors i bought had the gears on them so i guess it depends where you get them. the window will fall down once you have everything apart so watch for that. i was holding up the window with my left elbow while i monkeyed around with the motor with my right. the door panel has some screws to remove and some pop-in plastic plugs. you can get a bag of 12 at the dealer for $2.00. the door panel pulls out at the bottom and then you have to lift up to get it off the door lock/top of door. you will have to drill out one hole to get at one of the 3 bolts. make it big enough to get a nut driver in there. lube it all up well. my motors come out as one piece and the new one just goes in, you line up the gears and bolt it on. plug and play. it is really awkward but not complicated. skinny long arms and nimble fingers would help. oh and be careful with the plastic cover under the door panel. you want that to keep water out. while you are at it dynomat the doors and put in some nice speakers!
i can hear you cussing already! LOL
Rusty.
I did take the door panel off to get a better look. I have ordered a new motor on eBay for $65.00...I think it was a good price. The new motor is warranteed for life.
I did rip the hell out of the plastic sheet under the panel, but it should be easy to replace it.
I think I will trade in the old tired speakers while I'm at it too!
Thanks again.
