2005 6.0 :: Transmission Cooler Questions?

Hello all, I'm getting my truck set up to pull a fiver and would like to get a tranny oil cooler installed. I am having the Ford dealer fix some other items next week and they said they could do that too.

My questions are:
Is it a bad idea to have Ford do this job?
Should I go to a private mechanic for this?
Are there choices of brands or models and which would be recommended?

Just want good products at a fair price. Any info or responses greatly appreciated.

You already have the best cooler you can get on your truck. You don't need to do anything to improve the trans cooling.

110% agree with Mark. I tow a 31' 5er thru the Eastern Sierras in August. High 90's to low 100's out of Bishop, Ca. up a 7% grade for app. 12 miles and tranny temp. never an issue. Just make sure the tranny is properly serviced as per Ford and use only Mercon SP or LV fluids.

Yep, not need to touch the trans cooler. It's pretty damn big and I've never heard of anyone complain of the trans overheating unless they had other issues.
