Tranny Cooler

What coolers do you guys like?

i have heard of the tru-cool units, ford factory V-10 coolers, 6.0L psd coolers are massive but i don't need that much.

today driving home from school i was hitting ~190-200*F. never though i would be watching the trans temp gauge as much as i was while unloaded lol. BTW it is 100*F here today. i know that is part of it, but if i had a trailer hooked up i probly would have toasted my trans or had to make frequent stops to cool off.

thanks in advance.

The 6.4 Diesels have a nice size tranny cooler witch can be fitted in many wide vehicles.

It's an inch thick, 5" high, and ~3 feet long.

it has the aux trans cooler up front as well as the in-rad cooler. (aux cooler from the factory)

the trans sucks when temps got around 190*. it shifted WAY different than when under 180*. softer shifts when warm. nice and crisp under 180.

TruCool coolers come in many sizes. The 7.3 and V10 cooler are TruCool units with Ford brackets installed.

If you use the Ford version you need to play with the brackets. They are set up of the 99 and up trucks. Lines are 3/8"

The TruCool version is universal. Comes with comes with brackets to fit anything. Plus hose and barbs to instal in any vehicle.

200 degree temps at the test port isn't exactly anything to get nervous about.it's not perfect.you want like 170-180 all the time, without ever seeing 165 or 185 i suppose, but it's not like 200 is about to cook her lol.
go overboard on the air to air coolers, and you'll be like me,installing a aux t-stat to get temps up in the winter.
