i have heard of the tru-cool units, ford factory V-10 coolers, 6.0L psd coolers are massive but i don't need that much.
today driving home from school i was hitting ~190-200*F. never though i would be watching the trans temp gauge as much as i was while unloaded lol. BTW it is 100*F here today. i know that is part of it, but if i had a trailer hooked up i probly would have toasted my trans or had to make frequent stops to cool off.
i went to my local "mom&pop" parts store and bought the largest cooler they could get a 32,000 gvw motorhome cooler came with a complete installation kit it was like $55. the stock diesel trans cooler isn't adequate for a escort.LOL
200 degree temps at the test port isn't exactly anything to get nervous about.it's not perfect.you want like 170-180 all the time, without ever seeing 165 or 185 i suppose, but it's not like 200 is about to cook her lol.
go overboard on the air to air coolers, and you'll be like me,installing a aux t-stat to get temps up in the winter.
