Cruise control question...Again

Cruise control question...Again

Ok my cruise light will activate but won't hold speed, it shuts off when I tap the brakes. I did the self test and it went through complete. All buttons worked. After the test it did not show any blinks which according to the chart shows speed control switch faulty, I replaced the switch and does the exact same thing. The recall was also done. I really don't want to give the dealer $ 110 to diagnose it.

I can't help with the "won't hold speed" part, but the cruise is supposed to deactivate when the brakes are applied.

It does deactivate when I hit brakes but it's not actually activated, light is just on, and turns off.

Oh, ok, I understand.

When you said it won't hold speed, I thought you meant it activated, but it slowly lost speed and wouldn't maintain the speed you set it at.

All fixed! Turns out it was the servo. Boy did I get lucky, after a call to the local Ford dealer for the part $530 I stopped at a junk yard and they just happen to have a flooded excursion sitting there. $25 later my cruise works.
