steering box blues
well I went a bought a "rebuilt steering gear" from the lares corp.
the price was right and shipping was on time. BUT after paying to have the rebuilt box installed and shipping back the core (125.00 deposit). I observed
what looked like a trans fluid puddle under the front of the truck. Turns out it is the steering box and it's leaking out of the top of box. Not the seals or pitman arm shaft it's leaking out of the top around the adjustment screw.
The adjustment screw is just as they installed it. I email them and got a reply
"buy a new box from us and send the defective one back as a core" and then maybe I'll get a refund.
Not in this life time "once burned on them twice burned on me" I am still waiting for my core deposit and I'm all in for a redhead box group buy.
Maybe I'm just unlucky and most of their stuff is ok don't know.
