Need help,my ignition switch on my 94 f350 will not lock the steering wheel without the key, also the truck will start with no key in the switch cylinder,so I need to know what too replace to get the ignition back into shape, and how do I replace the lock cylinder if thats whats bad?
If the key cylinder turns without the key, he doesn't need to drill it out.
Turn the cylinder to "Run". This will allow the release pin to be pushed.
There's a small hole in the plastic below the key cylinder. Stick a small pin, screwdriver, allen wrench, or something similar in that hole and push the release pin in on the cylinder, then the cylinder can pull out of the column.
Correction, the cylinder will turn all the way without a key,BUT IT WONT START the truck like I said above. So if I put a new key cylinder in the truck,is that the part that locks the steering wheel when there is no key in it ?
