Limp Mode when in OD

Limp Mode when in OD
I have a 1996 F-250 7.5L 4x4. When i am driving in overdrive my OD light will begin to flash then shifting gets rough. I Turn the truck off, restart, the OD light stops flashing and everything is fine. The truck shifts smooth with no issues. If I drive with my OD off I don't experience any issues. The only time the truck goes into limp mode is when its in the overdrive gear.

Start by running the self test see what the computer has to say about it, (assuming your truck is OBD1, odds are good it is but you might live in "California" for all we know)
