Hi all, I have a 2012 Super Duty F-350 Dually, it is the XL model, unfortunately it does not have the (Power Equipment Group).
I would like to add the mirrors that have the running lamps & turn lamps in them, I was wondering if anyone new if all these trucks were pre-wired for these mirrors ?
I have been to the Ford (Build & Price) section of their website and the (Power Equipment Group) has a lot of features including these mirrors, for only $ 1,000 extra, I would like to think that all these trucks have the same basic wiring harness in them, it's just whether the options get added to them or not.

Anyone have an idea?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Unfortunately.I don't think it's possible to do that anymore. You used to be able to build a truck a la carte at the dealer because ford had one harness for each vehicle. Then they realized people were buying basic vehicles and adding in the other things like say heated seats or different mirrors after they bought the car for cheaper and not paying dealer price.
Not being a wise guy at all - why not just open your door panel and look.
I wanted to add rear speakers to my XL, I popped the panel off and verified that there were wires there to plug into speakers. What I did not count on was the cheap radio head did not support rear speakers. But I would think the easiest and surest way to know is to look for yourself.
Thanks For the info so far guys.
I figured I would just ask first to see if anyone else has done this before before I went to removing door panels. They look to be fairly simple to remove except for the window hand crank, older trucks it was a pain to get them off, didn't want to risk breaking them, especially in cold weather.
My XL does not have rear speakers either but there is a plug hanging in there for the speaker on each side, I can see it through the speaker grille.
yes the wires are there - but the base radio does not support rear speakers - I tried - however the wires are all there when I replace - upgrade - the radio I can just plug in the speakers.
OK, think I have a way to hook up the running lights on the mirrors, now would like to see if I can use the heated glass, does the heated glass just use a hot and a ground to operate, can I hook them up to a switch?
Like my 1SG always says, the only bad question is the one you didn't ask. If you do a search on the forum, I am pretty sure most of your questions have been answered though. But I am always sure you do all of the things with your wiring harness, it's just a matter or doing the wiring if it doesn't. EX would be the running lights to run a fuse and wire to the lights wire so that when you click on the lights, the running lights come on. Let us know how you come out. Nice looking rig by the way.
