i have 2 sets of 351C heads.i have on truck GT40P heads. i also have 1 set of 352 heads.will either 351 or352 heads make any noticeable differance in low to mid range power or just be better than the gt40p heads.wish i wasnt so ignorant in the valve train dept.thanks for any help yall can give.
Those 352 heads will not work on a Windsor small block. The 351C heads will fit but you need a different intake manifold to work. The same is probably true for the exhaust manifolds.
Those GT40P heads flow pretty well for a factory head. If you need more flow you could have your GT40Ps ported or start looking at aftermarket heads.

There is no getting BIG low rpm torque from the 5.0, but I'd be willing to bet you could do better with a cam change. What are the specs for the cam you have in it now?
it is a summit 1790. advertized duration 274/274, basic range 1500-5000 rpm, intake and exhaust duration @050 lift 216, lobe seperation 110, hyd flat tappet.
That's much like I expected and despite the cams "operating range" I bet the motor is relatively soft below 2500rpm. Change to a cam with something in the range of 205/260ish duration and you would see much improved low to midrange power, and if possible select a dual pattern cam with more duration on the exhaust side.
you must have been down this road many times. i am not sure that it didnt have more power when it was EFI system at low RPMs. but i am on a fixed income and partically disabled, so i will have to work with what iv got for the time being. i got new oil pump and complete gasket kit, am going to try this one more time. also im not shure that it wasnt the oil pump causing all the rattling of top end. the block and heads have not been milled, the block was bored 040 over. i have however checked for coil bind, and with these shorter springs there is no way thell bind.(within reason of course). am getting a book on degreeing the cam, pushrod legnth, every thing on valve train. all my life i have allways been a remove and replace, person. never changed the characterstics of an engine.time for this old dog to learn a new trick.is this actually a better cam (summit 1790) than stock for low end power? i haul 5th wheel camper and 6 ton gooseneck trailer, like to put it in mud and trail driving once in awhile, but mainly towing and highway driving. i just wanted a little more low end grunt out of it. time for work thanks for listning.allways appricate any advice. thanks
