replaced one battery in feb,the other [pass side ] was reading 12.5 volts when i replaced the drivers side and i was hoping to get away with just one purchase . been having problems with my banks iq acting funny and the truck will sit for 3-4 days a week then when i start her up she sounds weak,I drive around town and she seems to pick up a charge from the alt. fine and sounds great on restarts that day . check the alt. and she puts out 14.4 amps at the batt [only 1 alt] DID I make a mistake by not replacing both battery's?
well I replaced the other battery and it seems to be what the issue was,and had a complete check thru the truck for parasitic draws which showed normal draws. BUT! my banks IQ **** the bed! and found a thread on the diesel stop about low voltage drops causing IQ's to lose their program etc. [ Senix chimed in ,seems he had this issue also] so back to banks to get it reprogrammed after getting an upgrade a month ago.this IQ has been problematic for some time and gotta say it is wearing thin .
I replaced one battery the 2nd yr and the other the 3rd yr. I think they might have been undersized originally. The oem batteries were 750 if I remember right but replacements were 850.
