Rolled it over... :(

so the truck i have had so many questions about worked so hard on and spent so much money on... is totaled

i rolled 5 times across a highway over a gaurdrail and down a bank to land on my drivers side sideways.

question is... why did NO AIRBAGS DEPLOY

there is not one panel on my truck that is not completely wrecked

do i have a case against for with no airbags deploying?

this happend less then 24 hours ago, i walked away with minor injurys incredibly but still... no airbags.

how do i go about this whole situation? how do i go about ford and no airbags, hell i want a brand new truck from them.... nonsense that my trucks airbags did not go off. and i am very irate over this.

Glad you're OK....that sucks.

How would the airbags have helped it from being totalled though?

You bought it used....no telling what the previous owner did to the airbags system. Ford ain't gonna do squat.

Besides, the airbags deploy on front collisions....did you loose control and start fishtailing, no front impact?

Holy crap. I thought you were going to say the odometer rolled over to 100k or 200k.

I think the air bag sensors are in the front end for head on collisions.

Glad you made it out OK.

Not sure , but , airbags only go off if specific criteria are met . Impact speed , location of initial impact , etc. Lots of factors can go into air bag deployment .

For the airbags to deploy two of the sensors have to show the proper rate of deceleration. You must also decelerate in a straight line on the older trucks, ie. 6.0 trucks. Newer trucks with curtains would have deployed from the rollover.
Your truck would not be equipped with sensors to detect any type of rollover.

i slid sideways went into a huge aerial roll landed ontop of a gaurd rail then flipped end over end once back into 4 more barrel rolls down a steep bank.

i will upload a picture of the truck for you to see. the airbags are factory as i can see into the passanger front

Curtains are airbags in the a pillar, above windows, and on cab corners. We don't have them.

Curtains are just that, curtain style airbags in the headliner that will deploy in the event of a rollover. Not sure when Ford started putting curtains in the SD trucks. 2010 I think....

You are very irate because you walked away from an accident like that with minor injuries? Seriously?

If it happened differently it would be a different situation. Stop dwelling on what could have happened and remember that the could have's didn't have.

Life is too short and fragile to waste worrying on something that didn't happen.

Air bags will only deploy on frontal impacts ( in reference to the air bag in the steering wheel and passenger side dash ), now if you flipped it end over end i could see them deploying but not rolling sideways.
