I hit a concrete barrier doing 360s down a bridge at 65mph in my Ranger, no airbag deployment. The trucks spin was stopped, and reversed the other direction for two complete rotations before coming to a stop in the middle of the highway. Restarted after the fuel cutoff was reset and drove itself to the shop to find out if it was a total loss. Basically, airbags might not go off unless it's a straight-on front hit.

Is it the truck in the avatar? If that's it, I bet no investigation get's past "modifications to suspension and tires altered the truck outside of manufacturer specifications".

EDIT: Holy hell. All an airbag would have done is shoot glass at your face, nothing will help you if the a-pillar collapses. Be glad you aren't in a halo brace.

Did you hit a patch of black ice? The airbags won't deploy on that type of situation....be happy they didn't deploy, ya probably would have been hurt alot worse if it smacked you in the chest. Hopefully your insurance will do you right and you can get another truck. You do have insurance, right?

You are lucky....and be thankful the airbags did not deploy.

You're lucky to be on here typing 24 hours after that.

Life is too short and fragile to waste worrying on something that didn't happen.
i learned that after this, i was touched by an angel that held me inside the truck, my belt defaulted so i was in for a ride but it was a peaceful ride, i hurt badly now but the rolls were magnificent quiet and sound...

i will now cherish my life and my wife and kids lifes more then anything in this world, unfortunatly i work most of the time and dont get much time.. but as you said i will make the most of it

i stated it.

i was headed to work left the house at 3:30 am

somewhere around 4:15 am this happend.

all i can remember is that the truck lost control doing 70 mph my left tire hit the soft shoulder which drug me in, i tried to crrect it for about 1 second until i realized i was dead. truck spun from facing north to then facing south, after that i closed my eyes gave my life to god, felt an awkward sensation that made me feel at peace, the median was v shaped so it tipped on the far side of median launched me into the air rolled sideways landing on top of the gaurd rail, went one end over end back into 4 more barrel rolls down a bank and finally landed on my drivers side tipped about 40 yards from the start over the bank. climbed out and tried to regain my witts while trying to calm down this young woman who was hysterical. honestly a lot of what i remember came from my dreams and from what she told me. after the first roll i opended my eyes twice one time i was floating around the truck the second i was getting hit with glass and my personals inside the truck.

i have gashes in my head, really stiff neck, sore ribs from a previous 5 broken rib work accident, shoulder and arm bad hurt and etc... im here im happy to be alive, but i am really stressing on why i am alive. i cant seem to figure out what my purpose is to serve now...

Because the adjuster took one look and said "aw hale naw" to fixing it. The insurance lawyers won't let the comapny write a check over "faulty equipment" when there's anything that could have been contributory to the accident. Civil liability is a fickle thing.

im not understanding where you are coming from though. this is my first accident so i havent dealt with insurance adjusters etc... i dont expect anything for the airbags, i would like ford to be aware. and hell i want a new truck. im sure geico is going to shaft me without lube and only pay me half of what anything is worth...

but what can i do about it? im screwed and im sure of it... just put a brand new rear end in it less then a week ago.

so after the adjuster looks at it i get my check or?

Ok, in that case nevermind. You started out with being irate that the airbags didn't go off, I thought you wanted some kind of settlement for that. You can have a long row to hoe when modifications are contributory to failures or accidents, so things like the lift raising the center of gravity and maybe causing the rollover always come out when the lawyers show up. But don't sweat that if you just want to e-mail Ford to vent.

You might get a cash settlement, or they might try to sell you a "comparable" vehicle for the settlement amount. Any lienholder will get a direct payment before you see anything. I don't know exactly what happens if the settlement doesn't cover the lien on it, so if there's a loan on the truck call your financing people quickly. Get ready to ride it out for up to 60 days; yours looks pretty clear-cut but you never know with insurance companies. It's going to hurt either way, because a lot of plans won't cover add-ons. So any "value" things like the lift and tires might have added (or even just their cost) can get lost; you might get a small percentage back at most. Look up the truck on Blue Book, Edmunds, as many valuations that you can pull, take the low-ball on dealer trade it, and back out 10%. Average those numbers, and that should be a decent guide to the total value of it that won't get your hopes up too high.

I guess you stated what happened but not why. IE.. tire blown, cut off, t-boned, not paying attention, texting.

As for the the insurance, they will book your truck out and pay you what its worth. They don't consider that you just put a rear end in it. They don't care about any upgrades.
