For some reason I can't see your picture, but it is most likely the Fuel Restriction Sensor or the Water in Fuel Sensor. Neither are required for the truck to run; so just pull it and put plug in there until you get a new one.

I'm not sure, but I did have one go bad on me after I rebuilt the fuel bowl. IIRC it's 1/4" NPT. So go grab a plug and stick it in there until you get a new one; or just leave it there. Some people just pull that and never replace it.

... YES ...

If it looks like this one ? Ford changed the location on 96-97 to here ...

If you have an international dealer around they are less expensive than purchasing directly from Ford.

It tells you if you have a clogged fuel filter.

I know I am in the minority... but... I'd get a new sensor.

Then again, I also went and replace my fuel bowl heater too (mot people just remove/unplug).

I am a fan of not removing features.

Oh, I've replaced both of those myself. For as cheap as they are, why not replace them.

My WIF sensor leaked on mine. Something cracked or got loose internally and it dripped out of the sensor connector. When replacing it, don't screw it in too far. There's no positive stop for the sensor to bottom out on so it can be screwed in far enough to crack the housing.
