I have an 04 F350 with a Scangauge II. For some reason the EOT, boost, and a few other gauges keep disappearing. There is just no reading. If I turn off the truck and restart, they work again. Seems to happen most often when it is cold, right when I want to watch the EOT.
Does anybody know what is wrong here? I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the truck or the Scangauge?
Mine does that too. If I unplug it and plug it back in I always let it "go to sleep" on it's own before I try to start the truck. Same thing when I restart it the next time. I let it come on by itself and after a few times I can "force" it on but I never do it before I start the truck.
I had a Scangauge II that had a mind of its own. Sometimes it did not "wake up" even after a few miles of driving. I could always touch the button and it would come on. Scangauge replaced it and I have not had any more problems.
OK, I've been trying different things with it, but it still seems to just drop the EOT and a few other things randomly. Am I not supposed to power it on before I start the truck? I like to see how warm it got from the block heater before I start. If I unplug it and plug it back in it still doesn't work, I have to shut off the truck and start it again.
Think it's the Scangauge that's broken, and not the truck? I guess I'll talk to them about getting a replacement. (it's only 2 months old!)
Sounds like both of mine. I have them daisy chained and they seem to work perfectly one time then are just plain awful the next. No real rhyme or reason. If I KOEO long enough for even the fuel pump to go off, they will work MOST of the time. Not really a very reliable set up. Really frustrating when hauling heavy.

Did you ever look in to an OBD2 splitter and just running the seperate cords to each unit? This would get away from Daisey chaining.
There are a lot of threads on this site on this issue. I've not heard from anybody who has has a good experience with OBDII splitters or daisy chaining to make two work at the same time. I'm definitely open to suggestions, however.
so I'm new at this, I can't find in the instructions how to program the scan gauge 2 to read oil pressure
It will read HIGH pressure oil pressure (ICP) but not engine lubricating oil pressure since the PCM doesn't monitor that engine parameter as there isn't a real sensor for it. The dash gauge is nothing but a dummy light with a needle

Mine does the same thing, not often and only twice that I can remember....both times was when the truck was cold......VERY cold, like 20 below zero so I blamed it on that but if we find out something more here that would be good.
Mine did not "wake up" when the truck was started a few times. I could push the menu button and it would come to life when this happened. Scangauge replaced mine under warranty and I have not had the problem again after 3 or 4 years.
I have a MIA boost gauge. I usually run EOT,ECT,FMP,TFT. I pull the boost up randomly to check. Latley a blank has been next to boost. Not "0",but a blank. Double checked programing via Ficmrepair.com and It is correct. Also the truck is very strong and turbo whistles a beautiful tune. Safe to say i may have a dud scan gauge?
