I am having a issues with my 04 6.0 sd, been driving it to work daily for 6 months now no issues, last night i left work and have no power, boost pressure stays very low, turbo not spooling up properly, when i hit about 2k to 2500 rpm it starts missing like it is hitting a govenor on the motor, all guages show fine, egt, fuel press, trans temp and all the dummy gauges on the dash, only thing that shows different is boot psi stays low, just barley over 10psi, I get almost home and it starts to run ok again boost up(28psi WOT) power back to normal, im scared something might be going wrong so i dont want to make it any worst, any thoughts on where to start. My initial thought was the turbo sticking but it has had no signs of problems leading up to this, Im at a loss and dont want to spend a fortune at the shop with a wild goose chase since it is not doing it now.
Is it possible the veins in the turbo just got stuck and then finally released, cause when i parked it last night it seemed to be ok, havent had a change to check on it today.
I went out this morning to work with it, now it cranks up rough, idles ok but then it starts bucking and puffing black smoke then it stops idles fine then starts bucking and puffing again, when you press the throttle it bucks like crazy and black smoke rolling, any thoughts?
Well she is scheduled to go into the shop in the morning, have to pay a flat bed to come out and get it since she wont drive at all now, local ford dealer said 3 to 4 weeks in the shop before they could even look at it, Im gonna carry it to a local man i have used for years instead of that, I wish there was a good diesel shop just south of birmingham al, only ones i have found are a good little drive off for me. I have been reading all the post and vids on ficm failure, I think that might be it but I dont have the tools off hand to test it so i guess i will just bite the bullet and put her in the shop

UM, All you need to test is a multi meter, T20 scoket or L wrench and 8mm socket to test it... takes less than 10 minutes start to finish
