No boost at start up

'03 with 125k miles and recent start ups there's no boost until about 1-2 minutes and it jumps up suddenly to about 10psi and starts working. No codes or smoke, and it works fine for the rest of the day. My concern is that something serious downstream may be in the works. I am in Santee, CA and the nights get down to about 50°f. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think your truck is trying to tell you NOT to try that!!! Why can't you warm up your engine a little (temp gage goes to normal) before you try to race. I don't know if mine does that or not as I haven't tried to go WOT before letting it get up to temp!

It'll save you LOTS of $.

The oil was changed two weeks ago after 3k miles (since I tow alot, I try to change it every 3kmiles), using 15/40w Delo CJ-4. The turbo has never been cleaned. As for warming it up, it takes too long to let the truck sit at idle before it gets to normal, but I do warm it up for about a minute before taking off, and drive conservatively until it reaches normal temps. Should cleaning the turbo be regularly be included in regular maintenance? I use Powerstroke at every fill up, change the oil regularly and ensure the air cleaner flow is good. Thanks for the input.
