Torque app

Apple has a very restricted view of what Bluetooth is meant for, apparently. There are applications available, for $30 last time I looked, but they don't interface via Bluetooth, I think they use their own USB-dongle.

I know this is old, but...
I will mention that co-workers have found Apps pretty similar to Torque for their Iphones recently.
I have an Android and use Torque for some simple stuff.
But...
I have a question for those more familiar with it.
Transmission info beyond fluid temp. available???
I have the cheap elm327 adapters for my 2007 Fusion and 2004 Expedition.
Cheap and handy.
Just sometimes it takes me a little bit to get the connection to the vehicle.
My question is because the transmission is my Fusion is slipping pretty bad.
A while back I took another vehicle to the transmission shop locally and they went through the OBDII port with a scanner.
Can the elm327 and Torque App tell me anything about the trans beyond fluid temp??
Also, I have so far drained a quart and added a bottle of snake oil (Bars Leak 2 part trans fix all).
Drove that for a day, then drained it and filled with fresh fluid.
Drove for a week and it was slightly better.
Then pulled pan, replaced filter, cleaned minimal fuzz off the magnet, and fresh fluid again.
I had used Max Life fluid.
Again, a little better than before but still slipping.
The week old fluid had darkened and looked much worse than I expected after just such a short time.
I now see that a specific FNR5 fluid is called for.
Any idea if the difference in fluids is enough to make much a difference??
All the info I see online is pretty old regarding any other acceptable fluid types.
Any recent replacements?
I admittedly was surprised to find so many choices and no "TYPE F".
So I have heard that I am too old school and need the specific/expensive FNR5.
Appreciate any help advice.
Sorry to have thrown in such random transmission issue in an old Torque App thread, just searched Torque and threw this out there.
THANKS
