Sorry I missed it, those do stick out a little bit so they probably keep the running boards a little clean. They would work better if they stuck out another inch or two.
I agree they would have been more effective if they stuck out about 2" more. Because they are so low I had to keep them tight. They already rub when I parallel park.

Lower just keeps more junk off the bottom of the floorboard. I never had a problem parking but we don't have a lot of sidewalks here and mine aren't low enough to touch a curb anyway.

The low flaps also keep my 32' travel trailer clean. We bought the X specifically for full time RVing. So mostly highway miles and sight seeing. We won't be mudding unless it's a get outta dodge scenario. Ultimately I wouldn't change them.

I don't go mudding but I live in snow country and the junk from the road flies out past the flap when you turn the wheel and the wind whips it right back onto the boards.
Plus, I usually get more crap on the back of the running boards from the back tires, or enough snow that flaps wouldn't do any good no matter how big. Can't find a pic of the back of the boards as of now.
IDK why, but I LOVE this pic... can't wait for the snow. What tyres are those?
