The portion of my running board right under my drivers side door is sagging a little and it bends when I step on it to get in. I looked under and saw that it is pretty rusted and there are no supports in that area.
Is there a good fix or do i need to have something welded in there?
Its not so much the boards its the rusted supports underneath. Would the support package I see on fleabay work? It looks like just a bunch of L shaped brackets.
There's basically 3 parts. L shaped brackets are sturdy and won't rust out quickly. They attach the plastic running board and subframe to the body. The subframe is the thin steel that has rusted away in Dubb's pic. Then there's the plastic top. Some special bolts hold the plastic to the subframe. Let me try to get some pic's for you.
I have had the same problem. I Haven't found anything on craigslist in the Chicago area. Found a few nice nerf bars on eBay, but would like a stock board....
I've got the same issue. I believe I've read that Super Duty running boards will work. I see plenty of them on craigslist. If I'm wrong someone correct me.
