I was wondering if there is an easy way to to remove the actual drip? I know the chrome comes off, do you drill the spot welds out or try to sneak a cut off wheel under it I looked on youtube for a video telling how to remove, just seeing if anybody knows the easiest way to get it off or the correct way to make sure to get any existing rust out from under it.
Thanks
Max
Why do you want to remove them? It it is to just get rid of them then you can just simply grind away the spot welds. Just be careful you don't go all the way through the base metal. Or you'd have to break out the welder. Then just use a hammer and chisel and knock it off. If you want to remove and reuse, you'll want to get a spot weld drill bit and what is know as a seam buster. It works just like a chisel but it's thinner so you get less panel distortion when separating two pieces of metal when you need to reuse at least one of them. You can get them at any auto body supply store or from your local tool dealer. Like snap-on, mac, matco, cornwell and so on. Or you canget them online from places like autobody toolmart, or eastwood company. I prefer getting the blair spot weld cutter. And getting an extra pack of the double end cutting tips. They break very easily so be careful with it.
There is a diagram of how and where the rails are rails are attached to the cab on an older post in this forum. I saved it when I saw it, I'll try to post it or find the thread

You'll need to add some means of redirecting water run off from the roof or else you will likely have drips inside the door down your door panels.
The drip rails are more than worth their keep.
