That is the high pressure oil passage. You should try to get the piece out using a vacuum or something. Is the motor installed in the truck or is it on a stand?
The only passage it can fall into is the fuel passage. The oil passage comes down from the center of the engine, the fuel rail is in the outboard side of the head... about 1/4" above the cup.
You can remove the injector on the same side that the aluminum bread crumb fell to, then you have a clear passage for air flow. Get a clean vacuum on the second injector hole (GP hole temporarily plugged) and it should suck right to it. I say a clean vacuum, because you want to verify the part came out.
i have the o rings, just trying to come up with a clean vacuum. i have a large shop vac but its been used in construction all summer....full of sheet rock dust and other goodies.
in the off chance i cant get it... ?
also, i dont think i could get any vac hose into the bore to apply vacuum to the slot the crumb fell into... any ideas?

Use a piece of hose whatever diameter you need to fit the bore & ductape it in the end of the shop vac hose - Can also tape a piece of cheese cloth to the inlet side of the shop vac & check it for the piece afterward. Me likey ductape.
