Mystery leak

Hey all- looking for some help, got a 03 6.0 Excursion, drove it two nights ago, parked overnight, came out at 9AM and no leak, watched football all day, Went out before the 2PM game and it looks like fuel running down the back side of the motor and dripping off the trans pan. Go back out at 7 and its stopped. Same today! Nodda at 6 am, just went out and its leaking, Yet I have not drove it since Sat night.... Any help or ideas??

Jon

You need to determine if it's fuel or coolant and if it's passenger side or drivers side to help us "guess". I'm saying coolant from the EGR cooler hose but it could be fuel from one of the fuel rail plugs in the back of the head, but that's not common at all.

Not coolant (maybe it is-look at edit)- sorry, should of said that, its a clear oily, like fuel. My coolant is gold- which I know I need to swap. And im not missing and coolant. And its on both sides, passenger and driver

EDIT- so i looked up egr cooler hose and came across a picture, of a orange hose, went out and looked and theres fluid right below that hose-- trying to see what it is now

Does it smell like fuel? Coolant feels oily and the gold is pretty close in color to diesel fuel.

That being said, there aren't too many places for fuel to leak out the back except the heads......

The culprit is probably the hose. They came out with an improved version in 2005 because the orange one leaks. It's not that hard to change and it's a good time to change your coolant.

Usually it's the other way around, but who knows? Different rates of expansion most likely.

None, just keep an eye on your coolant level.
