Not trying to be in an argument, but that's the furthest thing from the truth. Lighting is a science, and it's extremely complicated. Just look at where we have come in the last 5 years in terms of efficiency and output.

So I understand lighting not being as important as other things when it comes to spending money, and I do agree. To me these lights are not redundant, since our stock headlights are adequate at best. But you make the point that you would be willing to spend more on personal protection such as in a hand gun. And I agree. But to me, a hand gun is mechanically simple. So why is it that you would pay more for a high quality fire arm? Is it because it would be more reliable? Perhaps more consistent? Better performance? Better at doing it's intended job?

Well I'm sure you would say yes to all of these, and the same goes into lighting and any other technology. A higher quality LED light out performs a cheap one in every one of the criteria mentioned above. And I find value in that. I find value in seeing a lot better at night on back roads.

Now one thing I would not do is pay 3x's as much for the identical light from a vendor, that I can buy on eBay.
That's a completely different story.

Exactly! Although, Rigid looks 100% identical to my "cheap chinese knockoffs" so... yep

I would love to see a side by side comparison of them. Maybe they changed something to make it theirs? Or maybe they didn't haha.
