One of these lights costs $132 shipped to your door, and one of them costs $740.

Same specs, same numbers, it looks like the identical light to me... Different price.

Coincidence? All I'll say is buyer beware. Why pay 7x the amount for the exact same light you can get on eBay?

You could also make the same argument for knock off clothes or shoes or how about chinese drywall?

Just because it walks and talks like a duck doesn't mean it is one.

I got my Rigid light bar 3 years ago, didn't want to wait 3 yrs. before it became cheaper. These lights weren't around then.

I'm saying that it seems like this moonshine x company is just reselling stuff from china for huge profits, which is fine by me. I am just trying to share info so people can make the best decision possible for them. Some lights are knock offs of a quality light that are sold at cheap prices. Seems like in this case Moonshine sells knock off lights at premium prices. If I am paying premium prices I want premium products.

Rigid and Baja, and other similar companies invest money in research and development, they purchase patents, and they build the best products they can.
I would much rather spend more money and buy from them if the budget allows.
And if the budget doesn't allow I'll keep the extra money in my pocket and buy the ones on eBay.

Get 2 for $65 from ebay

Or get 1 for $179 from moonshine

Again, just like you did in the other thread, why do I want to waste my money on rigid just to pay for the name and the exact same product. I bought a $15,000 truck, im not putting $1500 light bars on it when I can get one for $600 that does the same damn thing

All I asked was if anyone had any experience with these lights. It wasn't a who's light is better or why buy what some claim to be a knock off.

I ended up buying the 20" bar for the front and the small cube lights to mount on the rear end when I'm backing.

I'm glad some people have a 65K truck with another 10K in add-ons. My choice is to spend my hard earned money on other toys and save a $ where I can. If it lights up my gravel road at night or some dark road when no one is coming the other way then I got what I wanted.

Some of us like to support american businesses and manufacturers.

You, made it very clear in your 6+ posts in "the other thread" that you chose not to spend the extra money.... We got it already.

The company I bought from is in Arkansas. Made in China most likely, just like rigid. "Assembled in america" big deal they shipped it here and someone put a few screws on it. Lemme know how your bar 3 times the price works. I love supporting American businesses, but I'm not dumb enough to spend 3 times the price fora product that comes from the same foreign country. You want made in america, just as expensive as rigid though, bulldog lighting. Thats actually made in America

"Bright" is subjective. The lumen ratings are ALWAYS exaggerated...ALWAYS.

Wattage does not directly mean brighter.

The temperature (color) of the light can make it seem brighter or dimmer at the same power.

I went with the M&R lightbar in the grill and a pair of Kensun HIDs in the fogs and it works great and no one has ever seen it and not seen spots afterwards.

The comparison with conventional halogen and the newer HID is best judged in "throw" of the light. LEDs do not have the distance, even with the projector lenses, but the areas closer to you seem much brighter. They last way longer though, especially in rough (4x4) conditions.

I am not sure what side of the fence you are on in this convo, I am still a little confused. We live in a world economy these days so supporting US companies isn't so simple but regardless of that.

I understand you not wanting to spend that much money on light bars, totally respect that. I conserve money in plenty of places, where other people don't, and that was equally hard earned money.

I am not sure what company in Arkansas you purchased your lights from but my main concern was with this Moonshine company reselling ebay lights at 7X's the price any of us could get it for if we just bought it on ebay. That is my only gripe in this entire saga we have in front of us. So to me, dumb is buying a light from a second hand vendor when you could have just bought it for yourself at 1/7 the cost..

Now in terms of comparing the ebay (moonshine) lights to a company like Baja Designs is a joke. And Baja is an American company, that develops their own products, using the best CREE LED's available. So yes, I did pay a lot more for my light, and to me that investment makes sense. It makes me feel much safer on dark roads, and that was worth it in my eyes. That doesn't mean I expect everyone to agree with that.

This isn't rocket surgery. It's a light. A few LEDs, a circuit board and a box to put them in. It is hard to make one that is way better than another brand that would justify 3 times the cost.

Some things I like to buy the highest quality of I can find regardless of price or country of manufacture. Personal protection handguns come to mind. I will gladly pay 3 times as much for a Wilson Combat or Ed Brown over a Taurus. I may have to bet my life on it.

A redundant light on my truck....I can live with a foreign made model and save 2/3s the cost. Or buy 3 of them.
