I have a 2003 Expedition EB 5.4L. A few years back I replaced the air suspension with coils. The vehicle rides higher now overall and the front is slightly taller than the back. Yesterday I was driving in front of the vehicle and noticed that the driver side low beam looks like a high beam. The passeneger side looks normal. I have had no luck finding detailed headlight aiming adjustment in the factory manual. I found 2 bolts near the headlight that might adjust it. One is recesssed 10mm and does not appear to change the headlight aim. The other is a small bolt with a triangular head. Are either of these used to adjust ther vertical aim of the headlight? If so, do I need a special tool to do it?
Thanks in advance,
In the photo linked, the hex headed threaded rod is the adjuster. It takes a 4mm wrench. Screw it in or out depending on what your headlight adjustment requires (vertical adjustment only). The 10mm bolts should all be tight. There is no horizontal adjustment.
Thanks, Mike. Once I removed the headlight fixture I was able to see the hex headed bolt and get a wrench on it to adjust. A couple of turns did the trick.
