Hey guys, I just finished installing my remote start and alarm kit in my 2003 f350 6.0. The tach sense wire down by the e-brake that I am supposed to use for tach sense isnt working for me because as soon as I press the start button and power is supplied it receives 12v of power and the remote start thinks the truck has started so short crank time and wont start in the cold up here in Canada. So my question is does anyone have any ideas as where else I could get a better signal saying when it started or what to do? I am thinking about trying to tie into the alternator wire that feed the gauges but I would need some kind of diode or something as when I tried that last time I think the remote start was messing with the alternator as the voltage in my truck fluctuated quite alot. My remote start is a cheap no name brand 2 way. It works fine in my other gassers I have them in as they have ac voltage signal for it to read but I dont have one for it to sense on my diesel.
I have one But had it installed took the Guy ALL Day LOL but he did a Good Job I can adjust the Glow Plug delay
Your probably going to need a Wire diagram that's more in depth
I will try to dig threw my stuff I came across some stuff the other day I will see if I can find it again (That Tach sense was just what I looked at the Other day I will try and double check)
Thanks for the fast responses guys! The command start is a Radiostar Generation. I figured it out though, what I did was I wired in a diode from the wire that runs to the light on my display in the instrument cluster so that I got a one way signal once the truck was running for the command start to see but could not feed back.
