A/C dripping excessive water

I had some work done on my truck that required disconnection of a/c lines and then a recharge. Ever since then I've been getting excessive water dripping down passenger side wheel well and pooling up on ground, little bigger than the size of a basketball. AC works fine, but I've never had this much water before.

Clear water, no color, no smell, not oily. Do i need too worry? Just been worried since it started after they had to disconnect and recharge AC. Thanks

I think when they recharged your AC they got the proper amount of refrigerant so that the AC is now working as it should work. It was probably not removing enough heat or moisture before. There isn't anything they could do to it to make it remove MORE water from the air.

The AC worked fine before. The work done wasn't for the AC. I had head studs done, so the cab was removed which requires disconnection of the AC lines.

So if what you say is correct, then there possibly wasn't enough charge from the factory.

Or some of it leaked out in almost 8 years. It happens.

What could they have done to the AC to make it drip more water? I know how an AC system works. The evaporator is cooled. Air is blown over the evaporator. Since it's cold the dew point is lowered and any water in excess of what the cooler air can hold will condense on the evaporator and drip out. If the AC is colder now than it was before it will remove more air.

I get LOTS of water from mine 'cause I have LOTS of humidity in the air in Central Florida - except of course those 3 or 4 days/year when we have a "cold front"

Ok so it sounds like it's not an issue. I've just never seen it drip this much previously. Thanks

Your A/C compressor should probably cycle less now too, if you were low of refrigerant the compressor would come on/off more often. Explorers seem to have a very loud 'ting' when their A/C compressors come on/off I can hear them from a long distance outdoors. And can tell when the wife gets home

I know when I did my motor this time I had mine recharged by an AC specialist. It's never been as cold and never put out as much condensation as it is now. I actually had to turn the temp **** towards heat a bit the air was so cold and it was 90*+ outside. Sounds like they got yours right.....

Just for Giggles ,I would open up the glove box and look in at the heater core to make sure that's not your issuie or do you see leakage from another source? When my core let loose it dumped all the coolent out and popped the heads.

If the water's clear as stated in post #1, the heater core is not an issue. The AC is working properly.

Thanks CJ, I read that too, thought I would give a second place to rule out, Other than the heat control valve, If AC is working then no spits in the ac lines ,and still dumping water? never seen that much condensation drip the way the OP described, coolent? or no coolent?

I think that mine was serviced just before I got my truck. A basketball
sized puddle is about what I see.
