2001 F250 4x4, Ext cab, utility bed (possible cab and chassis?),5.4l triton. It looks like the door tag gives an axle code of 47. However, every axle code chart I have seen (including the one posted here in the tech articles), does not list a 47 axle code. I cut and paste the chart posted here below for reference.

I am interested in buying this truck, but haven't physically looked at it yet due to it being quite a few hours away. I want to make sure the gear ratio will work for what I have in mind. Since it has the 5.4l, I am concerned it may have very steep gearing.

It appears the 47 is the Region Code. Looks like Axle code is blank. Curious.

 

Those codes are for the axle tag, not the door sticker.

Thanks a bunch! Never owned a superduty before, but my older trucks all had the axle code listed on the door.

 

Yours should have a door code. It is odd that it does not, as SC_Hoaty pointed out.
