My truck has a round 7 trailer plug at the hitch like all do. I also have a round 6 in my bed for an older trailer i had. I just got a new gooseneck and it has a round 7 on it. I was wondering if they sell an adapter that goes from a round 7 to a round 6.
I looked at walmart today while getting somethings and only found a round 6 to a round 7. Be nice to find the opposite of that so i don't have to install a new port in my bed and have to fool with wiring and cutting a bugger hole.
If you can't find what you want, it doesn't seem like it would cost much or take much time to make any style adapter you need.
You might peruse here Adapters Wiring | etrailer.com as if they do not have it, I doubt you will find it. I glanced over my catalogs and did not see what you want, but that doesn't mean no one makes it.

I don't think they make a round 6 socket to 7 round plug adapter, just the other way around. Or, at least, I've never seen one (just checked a couple of sites and no joy).
I know it's not what you want to hear, but I would convert the round pin 6 pole to a flat blade 7 pole and you could get adapters to convert to anything below a 7 pole from there.
While it would not be difficult to make your own adapter as Steve suggested, I too am in the camp that you should just convert the bed plug to 7 round. With the available adapters on the market, you could use it for pretty much anything. A little work now, a lot of ease later.
I don't have a plug in my bed. I used to use an extension cord to make the wiring on the old trailer reach the bumper plug. The new trailer wire is long enough to reach. I don't think those extension cords are very expensive.
be aware that there were two standard ways of wiring the 6-pole round, where the Aux power and Brake poles may be reversed, depending on which standard was used.
I'm pretty sure the adapter you're looking for does NOT exist as a commercially available product. I have 7 way RV plugs on all my vehicles and use the 6-7 adapter when towing some older trailers I have with 6-ways on them. One of these days I'm going to put 7-way RV plugs on all my trailers and get rid of the adapters all together.
