so started putting in stage 1s in and taking the old ones out went well, but of course im thinking to myself theres somthing thats gonna go wrong there hasnt been one thing that hasnt gone wrong on this truck. stuck my mitey vac in all the injecoor holes and pulled out fluid till none came out anymore. then went back again and i got to #8 injector and there was a ton of fluid, so my machanic was looking in the hole and i was vacking out the fluid and it filled right back up. it at first looked just like fuel, but then noticed it was coolant. so i went to ford and got a new cup! for once they had one is stock. and bought some permatex 64000 sleeve retainer. and got the new cup back in and im letting it sit till 10 am. my worries are after reading threw all the bs in differnt forums, this sealant may not work? what do you think?
I don't have any experience with the sealant but glad you figured out your problem. Even after vac the cylinders, I turn it over with the GP's out just to make sure.
yea we sucked each cylender 2/3 times (most of the fluid was in the rears) then gave her a quick turn over and there was a small amout of fluid from #6 but #8 **** fluid everywhere so we started thinking there was no way that cyliner still had that much fluid. so we took the mitey vac back out and notied that it kept leaking fliud right after we sucked it out. it looked like fuel, not red or green. but after awhile it almost looked a little red tint. and my coolant bottle dropped down
The proper sealant to use on the sleeves is a "Retaining Compound." There are a bunch of different versions from many manufacturers. As long as you got all the old Loctite out, had a very clean pocket, installed the Permatex in the proper locations and got the sleeve fully seated you should be fine.
