Wow, I want another one, considered a diesel but I don't got that kind of change in the budget. If nothing else though I thoroughly enjoyed the photo spread and have to say that may be the best most complete set of "4 Sale" photos I've seen to date on Ebay.
Looks like the seatbelt was pulled on hard at some point.
Agreed. I wonder if a properly installed carseat could do that or if that might be an indicator of a wreck.
It's a shame the diesel ones bring that much. As much as I'd love to have the diesel, my Ex is that clean already and I'd never justify the difference in the price of fuel.
V10 = 10mpg @ 10K miles = 1000gals @ $3.00 = $3000 per year
44gal @ $3 = $132 to fill up
7.3L = 20mpg @ 10K miles = 500gals @ $3.80 = $1900 per yer
44gal @ $3.80 = $167 to fill up
The diesel costs you $35 MORE to fill at the pump BUT $1100 LESS in fuel per year to operate. (IF the above number are accurate)
When I decided to go with a V10, I figured something like the following:
V10 = 12mpg @ 10K miles = 833gals @ $3.00 = $2500 per year
7.3L = 18mpg @ 10K miles = 555gals @ $3.50 = $1950 per yer
Difference of $550 per year. Divide that into the average extra cost of the diesel Excursion at the time of purchase and you're looking at 10 years just to break even. If you're towing all of the time or just like diesels then it makes good sense. But if it's a family vacation truckster or around town vehicle then buying the diesel for the added fuel economy might not be as economical as it appears.
