The next day I called them and now they say that possibly the filter ruined some seals in the hydroboost. Not sure about that but maybe. I ordered another hydroboost from autozone but this time a different brand. Third times a charm???.? Installed today and it seems fine ....for now. I will keep you posted.

It did on the third hydroboost which is a different brand than the other two. I started to think of that also. The brake pedal felt more like there was pressure not allowing me to apply the pedal not like it was a mechanical thing.

Misread the post. Sorry. All three had a new rod from pedal to boost . Only the third one had a new rod that went for the boost to the master. The first two I had to pull the keeper and then the rod and spring came out. Just asking but if this doesn't work this time, what is causing the hydroboost to go bad in just a few days? All the tests and the brake people I talk to say it's the hydroboost. I really hopes this works this time!!!!

My last guess was a blockage in one of the hoses.
Like with the filter. But removing that did not fix
the problem. Did Ford do a pressure and flow test?

That is/was my best guess at this point.

If you installed a Magnefine filter I have a problem with the plugged up theory. Not saying it couldn't happen but they are designed for auto. trannys that push a lot more fluid and clutch material than you'll find in a P.S. system.

The dealer said there was good flow and that he checked the lines and the calipers. I'm not buying the filter issue either, but we'll see.

He did say when he started the fluid was about like Sludge

But I thought he had changed most the Fluid by the time he added the MagnaFine Filter

I just don't know about the filter causing all this Pretty SLIM Chance

I think you need a Way to See Hydro Pressure

Be the CREATOR of a New GAUGE

Get something into the High Side Oil line

Wonder what PSI they Kick at

This has to suck changing all this pumps

Do they Need Prime with Oil before Install

There is a tool for getting that info. The Dealership should
of been testing with that to find the problem.

Without putting my hands on this one it's hard to diagnose.

Update..... It's been a week since I replaced the hydroboost for the third time. This last time, I switched brands and it came with a new rod and spring that goes into the master cylinder. After a week, everything has been fine!!!! Still have my fingers crossed but I think I'm in the clear. The first two hydroboosts were bought from autozone and were the duralast brand. The third one is a power brake brand also from autozone. I'm not sure how a new rod and spring would fix my problem so I think I was getting bad rebuilds from autoZone. So after chasing this problem for several months , I think it's fixed. Going back to autozone to see if they will reimburse me for my bill from taking it to the dealer since I was getting two bad rebuilt.

Thanks for all the help

Update...... We'll the third hydroboost lasted longer than the other two. After 5 weeks the brake pedal started binding up and not fully releasing. There is a nasty hitch I the pedal and having the same issues as before. ?!$&$!?!'. Off to a different dealer this time. I real don't think the last dealer did the tests they said they did. We will see!

Subscribing Curious about this.
Man sorry to hear about your troubles, sounds like issues I get.

Only other thought I have is to have the system flushed at a brake shop. I know you said you had gravity drained and it was "sludge", but a good flushing might get out possible contaminates that might be creaping out in to the system and eating hydroboosts IMHO.

on a personal note - Autozone has terrible matching of components to vehicles. I was constantly taking parts back to them with my other vehicles for poor fitment. I stoped going when the Disc they sold me a week prior sheered some lugs and sent the Front Driver Wheel and Tire ahead of me while I was going 70mph. It was an Astro van, I kept it upright but still hit the guardrail last 10ft. They claimed zero responsibility...long fight.

Thanks. Ive flushed the power steering and hydroboost system several times with about 3gal of fluid total. I talked to a tech at another dealership and he was leaning towards flushing the hydroboost system using vacuum and doing an electric flushing of the system. Something with abs? But after I was done telling him what all ive done, he was saying hydroboost. Ill go buy a new ford hydroboost and put it in today. Keeping my fingers crossed
