Stock should not smoke very much even at the rev limiter.
Black smoke means unburnt fuel, which means its running rich, which can mean you need a new air filter, but more likely, you have a boost leak.
Scratch that, you didn't make two duplicate threads, you made quite a few multiple threads with the same post.
Please don't do that. You'll always get a more focused, better response with one thread that collects all the help, instead of having multiple threads out there collecting a few posts each.
I took care of all 4 of your other threads.

That was an interesting "Simon and Garfunkel" chorus in all the threads.
Look for leaks, read the engine, and ensure there are no tunes or sensor mods. When I first bought "Stinky", he had a wastegate cheater and a MAP fooler - and I really had to look for them.
That's what I thought the first time, but the guy at the second shop use to work for ford and he tried it between 2-3000 rpm and it wasn't as heavy but he said no way will it pass.... Gonna plug into my snap on scanner later today
Sorry about the threads.trying to use the App. I thought air filter but even when you remove it running it unrestricted (testing purposes only) it still stays the same
Once its reflashed I bet you won't have the power or mpg you are getting now. I to believe the PCM has a tune installed on it. After reflash buy a tuner and put it in stock tune when you smog it. And I think its 10 seconds not three. Maybe they changed it.
This link is the CA BAR smog test procedure. It says to OBSERVE for 10 seconds and the snap test is "quickly press the accelerator to 2000-3000 rpm and immediately release and allow to return to idle" but don't take my word for it, read it yourself. Like I said if your guy took it to governor, he is an idiot. Find another guy and have a copy of the rules with you. The plume is to be observed at 5 to 15 feet FROM the pipe, I bet you don't have much, if any plume at that distance.
So I plugged in and monitored live data stream and monitored reading at idle and at WOT. I didn't see anthing out of the ordinary however I did go ahead and replace the ICP because it had oil comming out of it. And I was replacing the fuel return spring with a OEM one and in the process I dropped a screw. No big deal but while I was fishing around in the valley I came across the IPR nut & spacer....😳o-sh#*!!! I don't understand how this truck has been running perfect for over 1000 miles with the IPR nut off! Anyways I tightened it up and because I could not find any abnormal readings (comparing it to my other powerstroke) I believe it must of had a programmer at one time and never removed properly. Just have to wait till wensday, I have a apt at ford. I'll report back
that's my thought also. maybe someone used a super chip programmer and changed the pcm settings. bad thing about that if it was done. they may not be able to re-flash it.
i believe that when a super chip programmer re programs a pcm it burns the flash with the vin number so the programmer can not be used on another truck and can only be taken off with the original programmer. Im not sure but that's is what i have heard, maybe ford can wipe it totally out ?
I just want it stock, I can always put a superchip or a DP tuner on. Worse case senerio I guess I can eBay a new PCM as long as the numbers stay the same

You can send your PCM to Jody at DP Tuner and he can download a stock tune for you and cost less than going to the dealer. But you would have to pull the pcm and send it to him. It couldn't hurt to give him a call.
