i have an 1988 clubwagon 7.3, starts fine when the temp stays above 50 or so but when it dips down below it will start right up idle rough then die, when this happens i have to hold it to the floor and crank for a few mintes or so then clean it out for it to start, wondering what it might be and it yall can help me out. ive had the van for a few years and this just started occuring over the last winter
Test the glow plugs, check and see if glow plug controller is supplying current to the glow plugs. Does it start if the block heater is plugged in. If yes then really check the glow plug system. Usually air intrusion doesn't care about temperature. Even one bad glow plug can cause issues.
if your WTS light is staying on for "a minute or two", something is seriously wrong
WTS light times should be between 10 and 20 seconds depending on the temperature.
