IDI wont IDle down
Hopped in my 94 f350 this morning fired right up as usual and since it was pretty cold I let it warm up before i took off and then i noticed it was idling faster than it normally does. It nrmally idles 750-800rpm but today it was more like 1100-1200 in drive so when i stopped for coffee I opened the hood thinking the fast idle solenoid was stuck but it wasnt so I tried adjusting the idle screw again getting no results, so i drove on to work with no additional problem. Now I drive home from work and it has raised to 1400rpm and developed a flat spot in the throttle response AND the transmission has now started to shift wierd. I guess the injector pump is going out again b/c everything else looks normal if so that will be IP number 3 in a year. I hope one of you guys knows something I dont and i will be grateful if you do... Thanks!

Duh, I didnt think of that to start with but have tried that now too and still 1400 and rising I sure wish it had been that though, throttle cables are cheap. thanks for the idea

Fast idle solenoid died, that was my problem. I have seen plenty of these go bad but never stuck in the fast idle position before. So now who knows where i can get a new fast idle solenoid?
