Wiper park position

Good evening.
New to the forum. I just purchased a 1977 highboy. The body is solid, runs good, drive train is in nice shape but it needs a few things so...

The wipers operate properly except they park in the full up position. I haven't torn into it yet. Figured I would ask first. What is the fix?

Thanks,
Trilogymac
Bill

RGG,
Thanks for the help. I had searched and found that thread as well. My problem is that they always park in the same position, up. It seem like an arm or the motor or something is indexed wrong. Although that is a WAG.

The positional switch inside the motor could be bad. When you turn the wipers OFF, the wipers actually keep getting power - then a switch inside the motor cuts itself off once the wipers lie down.

Mine keep getting power and goes thru a partial cycle like you said, but park up rather than down.

It's possible the arm on the motor is installed 180 degrees off.
The first picture is how the arm should be positioned, the next is how its assembled.

I bet you need to remove the outer wiper arm assembly (flat tip screwdriver), do a normal key on, run wipers and shut them off.

The reinstall them on the drive stud (thing sticking thru the cowl) in the correct position. Down....
