windshield wiper problems

I have a problem with my 1992 F150 . Wipers don't work at all, washer will squirt when pressed and wiper relay makes a faint clicking sound when wiper **** is turned through the intermittent settings ? All help appreciated. Thanks '92

Check the fuses first.

Franklin, Yes I did check fuse 1st ( all good ). If the wiper control module makes clicking noise while using lever could you say that the problem is or is not related to those two and could be in the wiper motor ?

Get a testlight. With the wipers on and the box clicking, go out and clip the testlight lead to a good ground, and then poke the green wire. It should have power.

Then poke the darkblue/orange wire. This is your low speed wire and should have power when the box clicks, or have power all the time when you are in regular low speed mode. The high speed wire is the white. If you are getting power everywhere, one more thing you can do is move your ground clip over and see if you can clip to the motor itself. I do not know about yours, but a lot of these motors are mounted in rubber mounts to lessen the noise, so they have to have a little ground jumper to ground the motor to the firewall. Make sure it's good. If you do not get any readings after moving your ground to the motor, the ground to the motor may be bad.
