So this guy below has a D44 in his pics, asking $500. But ALSO has a Dana 60 in his pics, but no mention of it and no price. I wonder if he knows the difference? Might be a possibility to get a 500 dollar D60 front axle.
My wife is mad at you today Rich. She says "The only time we get to go anywhere is if it's about Ford parts". "We couldn't just go to Indy to see the 500!". But honey It's a 78-79 Dana 60 front End. "I don't care you've bought your quota of Ford parts to go into your next lifetime" Come on Hun It's a Dana 60. LMAO !
Sorry about that...I never told you to TELL the wife about it, so you brought that upon yourself. Lol Well better you go get it than me, it is 5 1/2 hours ONEWAY...i am NOT going I am NOT going....
I would call before the road trip and secure that price for the axle in the pic (he has BOTH in that add). Since he might say oh yes $500 for the D44 and $1500 for the Dana 60 EEKS. $800 for a rear Dana 60....crazy...I can get them for 150 all day around here.

It's the get one more isn't going to hurt and it's not hoarding It's Fording philosophy. The wife and I love our place in the woods here at the northern end of the Appalachian Mtn.s and it would have to be a pretty good reason to get us to take a 7 hr. road trip especially during this pandemic.. I just like getting a rise out of her. You know how that goes if you've been married forever. I bought my 87 crew F350 just to go get Ford trucks and tractors and I flew to Portland to get it and took it on a 24 hr. test drive home. I'm retired from everything except being a good grand father and soon to be be hopefully Great grandfather, good husband, and Fording. of course.
Now that is a great story, mine goes like...I had the trailer hooked to my truck and asked her "Wanna go to Oklahoma?". She said no, so I dropped her at the daughter/grandkids house on the way and said, I'll be back. I rolled in the driveway later on that evening with the trailer and somewhere on the way back a 71 Bronco jumped on it.
If there are still guys here looking for one of these here is another. too much money but pretty decent condition and every option you could get except 4WD.

I was looking at that one earlier. I'm not so sure it is very overpriced. If it's rust free (it appears pretty good) that's a big thing, and you can jack up the prices of other cheaper trucks really quick looking to get the correct parts and searching out door panels, map pockets, air intake pieces etc.
I'm not sure what overpriced is anymore. 2wd used to mean almost free. now 2wd's are bringing as much as 4wd's used to and 4wd's are way up there. at least the asking price is I'm not sure what they get.
Hard to say where is goes from here, seems like too much to me I'd offer him a fair bit less and see where it went if I was in the market for an f350.

Whenever lowering these trucks became a thing and the aftermarket "lowrering" suspension kits became readily available the 2wd's started going up fast.
