Interestingly enough, in the funny coincidence department, a buddy had a '78 F250 in that same color, that was registered as a '78 here in CA and was clearly a low-boy 250, but also had the '77 grille and lights.
He was not the original owner, but was a very early second owner and had it for years. As far as we knew the PO had never messed with it, by way of putting an early grille and support on it.
I'll see if I can find any pics of it.

I wonder if he has any old paperwork for it that we can find a VIN or at least a month-of-build record.
Be interesting to know if a very few early '78's got the old grilles.

i suppose its possible. the "FORD" is across the hood like a '78 instead of the top of the grille like a '77...

there's also a guy in town with what i jokingly called my truck's twin... brown dent, '78 style grille, round headlights... owner swore it was a '76 or a '77... that one i have a picture of somewhere...

My '78 F150 was built on May 14,1977 with the '78 grill. So if it came from the factory that way it had to be before then or maybe from a particular plant.

Well that's pretty darn early! When did production actually start for the '78 model year?

That doesn't make any sense to me........but then again, what the hell do I know. I thought air must be forced from the top of the carb, not the bottom.

My thoughts exactly..... That or have the Turbo suck through the carb, i.e. the intake goes carb to the Turbo inlet, then the discharge to the intake. But I'm still not grasping how the setup in the add works.

Interesting!

1979 Ford Bronco with the m 400 of the turbocharger - $8000

This is a very clean truck in great shape one of a kind 77000 original miles

I was looking at that too. It must be a draw-through setup of some kind. I guess you end up with fuel in the turbo?

Something like a GMC 6-71 blower on a gasoline engine would be draw-through, with the carbs mounted up top.

Not digging the wheels, but otherwise nice Bronco.
