yep. Mine is leaking driver's side exhaust manifold to y-pipe, going to work on it this weekend.
Other common places are:
* the EGR cooler (or the plug if deleted)
* flex joint(s) on the y-pipe
* y-pipe to turbo
Generally, you look for the telltale black soot on the surrounding parts. Or stick a long stick with tissue paper on the end to find where the "wind" is coming from.

Mine is leaking as well. I heard the stick (long wooden dowel) with a string attached.
How funny, mine has developed a leak somewhere. I can smell it sitting at a stoplight with the driver side window down (passengers do not smell anything) or if the engine has been running and I walk around the front of the grille and fender I can also smell it.
Do not smell it with windows up or thru the vents and boost is normal.
Kind of aggrivating as I can snake my hand all around the joints and flex couplings and cannot feel anything. Even had a buddy revving the engine to make smoke and still didn't see anything.
I suspect the driver's side manifold either at the head or the junction to the y-pipe.
If you are smelling Diesel at a stop light ... it very well may be an exhaust leak ... but, first, it may be worthwhile to check your Fuel Pressure Regulator for a raw-diesel leak. This is the more typical culprit for the diesel smell at a stop light.
Can you let me know if you got leak fixed and how the best way would be to fix?
If you were asking me, yes i dud fix it today. I crawled under and used a 10mm small wrench ti hold the bolt end, and 13 mm socket to tighten the bottom bolt. Couldn't get wrench on top bolt no room for the wrench, will have ti buy stubby wrench and flex head ratchet at harbor freight, hopefully one will fit.
My leak us gone though with just one bolt snugged up, but i want to tighten the other one, plus check the pass side bolts too.
The installer of my bulletproof egr and oil cooler must not of tightened them all enough..

Josh,
I finally found my leak because soot was visible on the bolt at rear of manifold, and I could hear what sounded like an air compressor leaking.
You might check the intercooler connections, i found signs of leaking on the connection under the air box.
Since they are in the front grille area..
Not sure how much smell it might have though.

Yeah, i was napping and not awake.. ignore me...
I've had oily residue there and think it's exhaust - but we know it's clean intake air. realizing its oil from the ccv, but the brain can't help it..
