I have been smelling a slight exhaust smell in the cab of the EX. I slide under the truck and looked at the up pipes and bellows. I saw a slight amount of soot on the outside of both bellows.
So does that mean I have a leak? What is the most economical fix? Does the turbo need to be removed?
do you have this smell with the windows up or down? my 07 gets an exhaust smell in the cab with the windows down sitting in the driveway or at a traffic light. when my windows are up i get no smell in the cab.

If you have soot around the bellows, then they are leaking.
We can set you up with the replacement bellows (if you are handy with a welder) or a wholly different y-pipe with the new bellows already welded in on exchange. The bellows run $50, the ypipe runs $250.
I had a leaky up pipe, not the y, at the bellows. There was some soot on the exhaust down pipe. I figured it out for sure by climbing underneath with a light and having the wife romp on the pedal. It was really obvious! Exhaust smell gone after replacing the up pipe. That pipe was only about $110 from white bear lake. didn't need to take out the turbo, but it was really fun working behind it...
