Nice work! Throw a light sanding on there and apply another coat of stain and it will look a lot more uniform.

Yeah, more time working on the finish would even it out. One issue is that I tried using the Minwax Poly/stain all in one. I wouldn't recommend it. It is really sticky, doesn't wipe on well/evenly and requires you to go over everything with steel wool in order to add a second coat. If I had it to do over again and wanted to spend the time on it I would do it in 2 steps (stain and then poly) and spent a lot more time sanding with finer grit paper.

Got a funny look from the wife when I made myself a cup of coffee and then went to "Hang out" in the van.....just to enjoy the new cup holder and freshly cleaned interior.
