Maybe in fancy-truck land that's true, but the bubble on my XLT's dash controls the automatic light function. There sure isn't anything attached to the rear view mirror.
Uhm. The little black bubble on my dash is the sensor for the automatic headlights. Not a security feature?
Not that I doubt your info. As I don't know. I just think it's weird that my 2007 for focus with pats has the same light, and my 2006 ford free star has the same lamp with pats and so do my F250. I was just hoping I could have the light flash, lol while the truck is off. Maybe wire it, to a switch it something.
The headlights make sense, ford said it should blink even 2006. He must be a mistaken, would be the first time.
That is the sun load sensor.
You most likely have the EATC system or it a blank.
The head light sensor is on the back side of the rear view mirror.

I have a custome xlt, but I don't have the eatc option. It's manual heat, no temp guage. Just old school. I will look behind the mirror, don't think it has it.
Question, so where would the bulb go, if I put a pats system on the truck? A look a like bulb side by side?

Correct. My XLT is exactly this way also. Bubble on the dash is for headlights.
So is there an alarm system at all on our trucks or simply remote locks? I got the idea somewhere (shortly after I got my truck) that the first button push set the locks and the second quick press -with the horn toot- set the alarm. Is that bad info?

As far as I know, that's the keyless entry. The horn is so you can confirm its locked.
