When I try to start it I cannot get a long crank out of it, it will only turn a couple times when I hit the key, and its like the starter disengages on its own...
...When I turned the key to start it only turns a couple revolutions and quits/disengages, during the starting, ICP pressure was 28.28 and climbed to 500 psi a split second after the starter disengaged...
...HookedAE up and tried to start 3 times 1st crank volts went from 14.4 to 11.8 under load no start, 2nd try volts went from 11.60 to 9.4 under load nothing, 3rd try 10.6 to 8.9 under load nothing...
Ignore the ICP - it's behaving normal.
Battery, battery, battery. If the truck would crank just about a second longer, it would likely start. The ICP got to the threshold, but the PCM never got a chance to fire the injectors before the starter stopped.
Here's a vid (select HD for options while viewing) of my first startup after all fluids had been drained and refilled.

finally got around to testing the alternator and the batteries yesterday. everything passed, i was suprised, i was hoping the alt was no good. So im going to put it all back in and try to fire it with AE hooked up. Tugly you are correct, if it had about a second longer it would fire. Thats good news about the ICP
i may not have time to get to it tonight but i will report back after another go around.....so still trouble shooting
if problem still persists im thinking about removing the starter and testing it, would a bad solenoid cause the starter to disengage on its own?, i thought they either worked or didnt, thanks for the replys everybody, much appreciated
Have you checked the IPR ?? is the tin nut on the back side of it ?

I was able to put it back together and try it again, checked IPR, it was tight and the valley was dry. Hooked AE up and redid koeo tests, no codes. Tried to start it 3 times, everthing charged and volts good , first 2 tries same thing....3rd time starter gear just spun and didn't engage the flexplate......finally something I reconize. So starter c omes out sometime tomorrow, I'll test it before I buy one, but pretty sure that is my problem.
I think the GPCM and CPS were fine, but that code did go away after the GPCM was replaced. I'll update with results in a day or 2, I really appreciate the help.
it was the starter!.....^$&($%!......, took it out and tested it....starter gear just spun, didnt engage, i replaced it with one from ford and it fired right up.
i heart my truck again.
i appreciate everyones response and thoughts on the situation. And this site is a great resource, since i do all the work to the truck myself, its nice to bounce thoughts off people and read what others have done.
