I posted this at fordification but it doesn't seem to be getting any response. Maybe here is better.
I've been searching for a longer pitman arm to fit the 79 f250 2wd p/s box I just mounted in my 70 highboy. I did the same type conversion found here; Ford Highboy Power Steering - FORDification.com
I have the pitman arms from both a 70 and 72 2wd box the c9ta and the d2ta. The d2ta is angled on the end putting the drag link end farther out from under the frame between the leaf spring and frame but the spring will still hit it a little when I hit big bumps when turned against the stops. At least it looks like it'll hit. Any body know what I'm talking about? Know what longer pitman arm will fit the box?
Maybe a shorter arm on the knuckle would make it so the pitman won't go between the leaf spring and the frame.

Any 4x4 shops local? Seems to me that would be part of a lift kit.
Yes. I took the pitman arm to a place called MIT in El Cajon Ca. Jeff usually stocks them but was out. I should be able to get it on friday. Hope it solves the problem.
UPDATE! The Pitman arm I got from MIT was longer but it had a little offset. So I found a flat one at TK 1 RACING. #820-00 Pitman Arm - Straight -GM taper. I had to get a different tie rod end Moog #ES2234R to fit the pitman arm and the clocking was slightly different in the flat pitman arm but that was a good thing. Now the arm is at 90deg. to the frame with the box centered.
Because the clocking was different I had to have made a longer (8-1/2") drag link coupler. The one with the 7/8 18 L and R threads.
Hope this helps someone.
