So, this truck has had a few changes and I can't remember how this all worked, but in looking at my pitman arm and drag link now, the pitman arm is hitting my leaf spring when turning to the right, severly limiting my turning radius. Now, this has had the power steering conversion kit sold by that guy in Washington put in and it's had a Cummins put in and new springs from Alcan that were supposed to be beefy enough to carry the Cummins - but they are dead straight right now.
I can't believe I've always had this problem and just didn't notice, but as I said I can't remember how it alll worked originally.
Is there a longer pitman arm available? Is there another way to work this out - some neat trick? If I add enough leaves to the front springs to raise the truck so the pitman arm can clear, it will just create a potential to snap the damn thing off at the wrong moment. I just can't see how the thing ever worked.
