I liked the idea of the F6 for reburn capabilities when I do hardware upgrades, like injectors/turbos. I have narrowed down the tunes I use to stock (when troubleshooting or early in the morning neighborhood driving), high idle (sure purges the cooling system of air quick when you're flushing and filling the system to clean out fuel , 60e for daily, and 40t for the 19K gross towing in the mountains.

It's kind of fun to try different tuners too, so with the next hardware upgrades, the F6 emailed reburn capability may not be needed. Might just punt and get a new tuner.

Like others have said, the real advantage of the F6 over F5 is the ability to get dialed-in tunes relatively painlessly, as its not likely the first tunes you get will be right. Mine took some tweaking.

To be honest with you at this point I'm leaning towards the infinity simply because I like the idea of having all my gauges in one package. I've been struggling to find a solution to loading up with gauges without putting them on the pillar. The overhead gauges seem to have issues staying in place. The F650 from Riffraff is an option it looks like I'll still have room to mount the brake controller.

The Infinity package deal with the F5 is within $30 of of the cost without the F5 putting it together yourself. It's another $200 to go to the F6. Lots of things to think about.

Yes.

I have a high idle tune on mine. Had it on my '02, too.

Got it when I was live tuned by Jody each time, so it was included in the package deal for all the tunes.

I believe all the tuners offer a hi-idle, plus the EBPV close option. I have hi-idle with EBPV closed - it warms the truck up faster.

You need a tuner to begin with, then each tune bumps the price about 50 bucks (for stock truck), depending who you deal with.

I just want to add, when I installed a chip, my tranny's 2-3 shift slipped pretty consistently. I installed a john woods valve body and it works great...but, it was an unexpected expense.

If you wanted to upgrade the valve body I would go with the BTS valve body. Its not to costly. Couldn't you also upgrade the clutch pad?
