Look for sensor issues.

Odd behavior but to dump the truck go to another dealership and don't tell him about the mods.

They can fix it for 1/10 the cost.

I thought white smoke = water so switching between stock to lets say non-stock sounds like the EGR is back on in stock mode and your coolers might be leaking into the intake causing this issue.

Generally when you turn off the DPF the EGR is off also.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Might still have the old style EGR valve which has a coolant line going to it. Explaining the eating of coolant/white smoke issue.

So are we loosing coolant?

Check oil level to see if it is making oil.

If so stuck open fuel injector.

found white smoke cause

Mine had been doing this and was unable to find cause till now. There where two problems with the truck. One was the exhast gas temp sensor was going bad and tricking the computer telling it needed more fuel dumping excessive fuel that could not be burned and blowing white smoke like crazy. The second problem was the water seperator was clogged with wax like goo. So bad that the sensor line was clogged and unable to tell me to empty it. So I was blowing water in the fuel I dont know it that had anything to do with the white smoke but it is not good. My mechanic told me not to use biodiesel anymore he said that is the cause of the waxy build up. But since he did those repairs I have no more white smoke issues and my mileage has went up about 2 miles per gallon. He changed the exhast gas temp sensor took off and cleaned out water seperator changed fuel filter checked balance on all fuel injectors which were all good and with tax it was $745.00 but well worth it not to be blowing smoke and wasting fuel. In no time I will have that money back in better mileage.

Did you return the truck to stock when you put the DPF back on?
