I am striping the interior of my cab today before it go's to paint. Got everything out BUT the dash pad. I know there are a few bolts up in the dash. Is there an easy way of removing the pad? Any help will work. I am going to post a few before pix and after pix in here when it's painted.
It's a major pain. There are several nuts holding it against the metal dash. I had to remove the glove box to get to mine. The short answer to your question is no, there is no easy way of doing it. Unless you have small hands.
u have 6 to 8 screws along the leading edge of the dash next to the windsheild .. then two bolts one on each side and the e-brake release handle to remove the whole dash..... makes taking the pad off alot easier... i think theres about 15 nuts holding the pad to the dash... i removed my pad first with a lot of patience and a 1/4 rachet but didn't want to go through that again so i just took the dash all the way out and painted it and put the pad back on before re-installing the dash.... much easier removing the whole dash.
IIRC there are 8 nuts on the inside of the dash that have to come out. Like fmc400 said take out the glovebox and the instrumnet cluster to get at them. Don't forget about the nut in the center of the dash as well.
I went ahead and took the glovebox out and got to the 3 nuts on that side. then had to take off my bezel and cluster to get to the others. That was a good idea about the glovebox. Thanks. and thanks everyone for the respond.
