How new? As in, JUST replaced and you have air in the coolant passages?
Your truck is fine. Add more coolant and keep an eye on it until the "usage" tapers off and the heater works normally.
I replaced the pump in June, middle of June the original motor blew the #6 piston. I finished installing the "new" motor the last part of August. I literally have driven one full tank of fuel through it.
Glow plugs that were a month old failed two weeks ago. I warrantied them and replaced with Bosch. So really, my truck has not been driven much at all. I have not driven more than 40 miles at a time before turning it off.
Should I put a hold on the T-stat or just go ahead and buy it and keep it on hand?
